Description
This is a fine example of Thomas de Colmar Arithmometer By L.Payen C 1875 , with the sign “Arithmométre N·1666 L Payen ,V L Payen 46 Rue de la tour des dames. Paris”. This piece have his original 74 centimeters long case and is the biggest model by the hand of L. Payen.
In its features we can find eleven entry digits, nine multiplier digits and twenty readout digits. Also switching lever for Addition and Multiplication and Subtraction and Division.
Thomas de Colmar was the inventor of this Arithmometer (1785-1870) but when he died his successor was Louis Payen. In addition, you can this and other fine museum pieces from XIX century here.
